In-Progress, New Ceramic Series

I’ve added a new work to my Etsy Site, as part of a series began this summer. I’m finding influence in vintage circus and carnival art, clowns and mimes, magicians and illusions, fortune-tellers and mystics. I like the combination of vaudevillian entertainment and a glamour that leans hard into otherworldliness. This particular piece has a series of playing cards on the exterior; it’s a playful work I began after visiting a tarot reader whom specializes in playing card readings. Playing card deck designs, both vintage and contemporary, are another rich area of inspiration. Check back as I expand on this series throughout the autumn and rest of the year.
