Here is a brief mood board created in development for a creative teaser advertisement for an upcoming new fragrance for the mock perfume house, Fumery. The anticipated fragrance will be “coffee.” The challenge, however, is the client did not want to openly reveal the scent, only tease customers into following the campaign.
After smelling, experiencing, and evaluating the coffee beans fragrance, I made a list of well over 50 descriptive words and phrases describing the scent, emotions, visuals, textures, hues, etc. Following extensive research and brainstorming, I completed various rough sketches. This is the sketch which morphed into the final advertisement.
Utilizing Adobe Illustrator, this shows the final teaser advertisement following feedback and adjustments. \
Per the client's request, some design elements include: five singular words dispersed throughout to aid in creating a sense of intrigue as well as help capture the physical experience of smelling the scent; the Fumery logo in the lower right corner; no additional words or slogans; no 'coffee' written anywhere; no images of perfume bottles, coffee beans, cups of coffee, brewing equipment, or other revealing images or words.
